Construction Process of Refractory Materials in Incinerator

Construction Process of Refractory Materials in Incinerators


a. Preparation before installation. Remove the furnace top burner, burner, and thermocouple, and keep them properly. Set up scaffolding in the furnace and mechanically remove all refractory linings in the furnace.


b. Installation of anchor nails. Install and weld two layers of special anchor nails with a total length of 10mm in the furnace wall, with a spacing of 200mm×200mm. The first layer is a Y-shaped 160mm long anchor nail, which is directly welded to the furnace wall metal. The second layer is a V-shaped 210mm long anchor nail. After the construction of the second layer of refractory insulation castable lining is completed, the V-shaped anchor nail is welded to the outer end of the Y-shaped anchor nail.


c. Installation of circular furnace insulation layer and a second layer of refractory materials. The refractory lining castable is mechanically stirred, and all stirring tools must be clean. Determine the mixing amount each time according to the construction situation. First dry mix for 2 minutes, then add clean water with a pH value of 6.5 to 7.5 and stir for 5 to 8 minutes before discharging and using it quickly. It must be used up within 30 minutes. If it has lost its fluidity, it must be discarded and must not be mixed with water and reused. Use steel formwork support each time without exceeding 1.00m high. The first section of the furnace wall refractory castable is cast 1.00m high, and the second section and above are cast 0.90m high each time. Use a 30mm vibrator for mechanical vibration, and vibrate strictly according to the technical instructions.


d. Construction of the furnace roof. The furnace roof of the incinerator is a round arch, and the construction is difficult. Once the construction quality is neglected, the furnace roof arch may collapse, which will inevitably affect the treatment of BI waste liquid. Special treatment was carried out during the construction: 41 Y-shaped anchor nails with a diameter of 10mm and 340mm were evenly welded on the metal of the furnace roof arch. Then the prefabricated wooden template was used to support the round arch shape. The width of each template did not exceed 200mm. The rest of the construction was divided into 3 layers of construction and pouring like the furnace body.


Analysis of the causes of damage to refractory materials in garbage incinerators


1. The atmosphere in the garbage incinerator has an impact on the degree of erosion of the refractory materials. Garbage incinerators are mostly oxidizing atmospheres. The corrosion resistance of SiC bricks in oxidizing atmospheres is about 10 times greater than that in reducing atmospheres.


2. The increase in operating temperature will increase the erosion rate, especially clay, and high-alumina refractories are more susceptible to temperature. 3. The CaO/SiO2 ratio in the slag of the garbage incinerator is the main influencing factor. Neutral refractories such as Al2O3-Cr2O3 are more susceptible to it than alkaline refractories. Usually, CaO/SiO2=1.0 is the critical point. Above this point, MgO, spinel, and C-series refractories can be selected. Below this point, Al2O3, Cr2O3, and SiC-series refractories are the best. 4. Garbage incinerators are subject to a variety of stresses, including thermal stress, mechanical stress, structural stress, and loss of support stress.
