Refractory cement sounds a bit fancy, but it is actually what we often call high-temperature cement. It can still maintain strength and hardness in high-temperature environments and will not become soft and weak due to continuous high temperatures. The main components of refractory cement are alumina and silicate. These materials give it the characteristics of high strength, high wear resistance, high fire resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance. Rongsheng Refractory Material Manufacturer provides high-quality refractory materials for high-temperature industrial furnace linings. Contact Rongsheng for free samples and quotes.

Types of refractory cement

Refractory cement can be divided into several types according to its composition:

Aluminate refractory cement: This type of cement is made by mixing and grinding low-calcium aluminate refractory cement clinker and high-aluminum cement clinker. It has high early strength, similar refractoriness, and is widely used.

Low-calcium aluminate refractory cement: The main components of this cement are high-quality alumina and limestone, which are processed by sintering and grinding. Its composition is usually: oxygen accounts for 70%, calcium oxide accounts for 19% to 23%, silicon dioxide <4%, and iron oxide >3%.

Calcium-magnesium aluminate cement: The main components of this cement are high-quality alumina and dolomite, which are processed by sintering and grinding. Its composition is usually: aluminum oxide accounts for 66% to 74%, calcium oxide accounts for 13% to 18%, and magnesium oxide accounts for 10% to 13%. The refractoriness of this cement is above 1650℃.

How to use refractory cement

It is actually very simple to use refractory cement. Generally speaking, the ratio of refractory cement to sand is about 30%. Prepare an appropriate amount of refractory cement first, add an appropriate amount of water and stir evenly. No other binders are needed when adding. You can also add a little powder and refractory aggregate, which can effectively avoid cracking problems in the future.

Application fields of refractory cement

Refractory cement is widely used in industry and construction:

Industry: steel smelting, glass production, cement production, furnace body, etc. In these harsh environments of high temperature, high pressure and chemical corrosion, refractory cement can still maintain stable performance.

Construction field: high-rise buildings, tunnel construction, bridges and other projects. Refractory cement can improve the fire resistance and safety of buildings.

In short, refractory cement is a very practical material that can play an important role in both industry and construction. I hope this article can give you a deeper understanding of refractory cement.
